Yeast Infection Cures - What Works?

Posted: Jan 01, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

Most people are going to benefit from this article today, but to make certain everyone benefits I want to introduce to you the factors that make or break you.

How long the yeast cure takes is reliant on a couple of aspects. You are directly in command of one, and indirectly in control of the second. Let's look at them:

-    Your persistence in using what has been prescribed to you. (The 'cure') – Direct.

-    The level of resistence you have against candidiasis with an effective immune system.

Your persistence can, in turn, lead to a dependable resistance. Concern yourself with persistence, and your immune system will become stronger.

In this article I will be extensively exploring the options you can use to cure yeast infection.

Pills and Tablets:

If OTC treatment is a preference of yours for the conveniance and speed, then this form of treatment should definitely be considered. But,

1.    They carry a whole host of side effects such as sleepiness and nausea.

2.    They are effective short term but once stopped the disease returns.

3.    Supposing the disease comes back, it's entirely possible for the condition to build resistence to the medicine.

Suggested Products: (short term only)

-    Nystatin: This is the most common antifungal pill and is often prescribed for months at a time.

-    Diflucan: This fierce medication is prescribed only by your doctor. Be aware, though, that there is a slight chance you will damage your lungs permanently. – it also can't be used if you are presently pregnant and/or breast feeding

ALERT: Do not use antibiotics when you have yeast infection. It's like positioning your own army against the enemy, and then removing them from the battle, leaving the enemy to conquer! - Steer clear of antibiotic use

Suppositories:

Akin to the previous treatment, suppositories are good in relieving pain. You should also know that this isn't a long term remedy to the predicament of yeast infection.

Mind you, they do have less side effects.

Suggested Remedies: (short term only)

-    Yeast Arrest

Capsules:

This form of treatment is quick to take action and with the choice of garlic capsules, they can be practically side effect free. Mind you, they are an expensive alternative to natural remedies.

Best Solution: (short term only)

-    Garlic Capsules: With four thousand milligrams of allicin-allin

-    Diflucan: These can be purchased in the capsule form too. Let me remind you once more that they should be viewed as a last resort.

Creams and Ointments:

Creams and ointments are just one other short term remedys but we are getting to the long-term cure (I promise!). The reason this approach is not a future proof option is because creams are topical, i.e. they are applied to the skin. The only true way to resolve yeast infection is to work from the inside, out.

Best of Category: (short term only)

-    You can purchase Nystatin as a cream If you want a 'quick fix' for a modest case, the Nystatin should be the name you buy.

-    A Different product you have is with Monistat. Monistat is a great backup to the former product.

Organic Cure: (Recommended)

With the right understanding there is no treatment that is on par with the organic approach.

'Natural' is also the way to go for ensuring no nasty side effects that modern pharmaceuticals seem to drag along with them.

Further, your diet is a brilliant opportunity to naturally retain good health long term. Develop healthy eating habits and you won't have to worry about taking pills of a morning and being wary not to overdose.

Recommended: (The long term approach)

Oil from the Tea Tree -- The oil can be applied with some cotton and a gentle padding motion.

Garlic -- Garlic assists in strengthing immunity. Use aged garlic extracts for best results. It's useable in many varieties (as seen earlier) and is the closest natural enemy of yeast. Its effects are very quick and virtually side-effect free.

Cedar Vinegar (Apple) -- This age old option brings a level of control to fickle yeast supplies.

Loose apparel will help hugely if you are used to wearing tight fitting clothes - ensure there is a lot of air between your clothes and skin. Another little point: Try to stay as dry as you can. Candida adores a warm and moist environment, don't help them out!

Lapacho/ Pau d'Arco Tea -- These herbal teas have been proven with antifungal and antiviral qualities.

Yogurt - When purchasing yogurt 'probiotic' alone is often not enough... Read the small print to see if it has the bacteria 'acidophilus'. The good bacteria inside these yogurts help to control yeast levels.

Any of these may work, provided you have no underlying allergy or medical condition that would suggest otherwise, and they are unlikely to cause any harm. However, you should always let your doctor know about any supplement or herb you plan to take, just as you should let him or her know about any over-the-counter and prescription meds you're using.
