Yeast Infection Symptoms In Women Are Very Common

Posted: Dec 27, 2009 |Comments: 0 |

Adult females get affected by yeast infections and it is important for them to get rid of this infection. Yeast is a fungus, and hence grows well in dark and moist areas like the female reproductive organ. Women already have yeast in their reproductive organ's area in normal circumstances. Research has shown that yeast infection occurs at least once in the lifetime for 3 out of 4 women.

When yeast starts to multiply without control, it is known as yeast infection. Usually this happens when a women's normal immune system is weakened. The reason may be the antibiotics which were being used to treat any disease.

There are a number of common yeast infection symptoms in women. But the symptoms of various medical conditions may be quite similar to each other. Some serious sexually transmitted diseases are also included here. Consulting a doctor is the best option if you think that you have a yeast infection. Any serious disease will be ruled out this way. The most common yeast infection symptoms in women are:

• Itching in the female reproductive organ's region

• Soreness of any form

• Burning during urination

• White and thick female reproductive organ's discharge

• Foul smell coming from the female reproductive organ

• Painful sensation in the female reproductive organ's area

• Pain in the abdomen

Many times in a year these symptoms may be experienced by certain women. The reason being that these women are more prone to female reproductive organ's yeast infections. There is nearly 5% of such women who tend to get yeast infections 4 to 5 times each year.

Another factor here is that certain women may not experience any symptoms while some may experience only a few symptoms. But still, it may be possible to pass on this yeast infection to the male partner. The symptoms in males are slightly different. These include the following:

• Skin in the genital area getting chapped and dry

• Gas and constipation

• Rashes

• Soreness at the head of the male reproductive organ

• White and thick discharge

• Blisters

Again, these symptoms are all close to symptoms you may experience with other conditions involving the genitals. It is crucial to know what to do about these yeast infection symptoms. The infections need to be treated in the right way and at the earliest.

If proper care is taken, female reproductive organ's infection can be prevented. Important thing here is hygiene. You need to keep the female reproductive organ's area clean and dry. Always wear cotton undergarments. Innerwear which is synthetic should not be worn. A wet swimsuit should be changed immediately. Feminine sprays, scented toilet paper and deodorant tampons need to be avoided.

A pelvic examination may be done to confirm the yeast infection symptoms in women. Any inflammation of the vulva will become evident this way.

The risk of yeast affection may be alleviated due to many reasons. Stress or lack of sleep may also be a factor. Other factors may be illness or during pregnancy. Yeast infection is also promoted by poor eating habits like eating lots of sugary food. In case a woman is taking steroids or birth control pills, she will be more prone to yeast infection.

A chronic vaginal yeast infection is simply an infection caused by the fungus Candida Albicans. A recurrent vaginal yeast infection occurs when the fungus in the body isn’t kept in check by the beneficial bacteria, such as acidophilus and lactobacillus. This allows it to grow and spread. The fungus then overgrows in the body, leading to a recurrent vaginal yeast infection if not corrected quickly.

Vaginal infections caused by yeast usually need to be treated with anti-fungal medications. These medications are available in a cream or vaginal suppository form, or as a pill that is taken by mouth. Once available only by prescription, many yeast infection treatments are now sold over the counter in drug stores. However, it's usually a good idea to be seen by your ob-gyn before you treat a yeast infection, especially if it's the first time you've ever experienced yeast infection symptoms.

Before responding to the behavior, it can be helpful to take three deep breaths to relax and think about what the best response would be. Calmly but firmly, explain the behavior you fancy the child to perform. Use proper language to express what the child should or should not do. Strive to keep a firm but unemotional tone that is free from irony.
