Milk, salmon, and most fruits and veggies are also rich in vitamin D. If these food groups are not available, take advantage of vitamin D supplements. You can also try zinc. Zinc from oyster can help stop cold at its earliest signs.

To constantly make sure that your nasal passages are free from virus and bacteria, spray saline solution directly to your nostrils form time to time. Saline solution is designed to cleanse the sinuses from irritants and other elements that may initiate a cold.

A cold can be potentially harmful. When left untreated it can cause ear, throat and nasal problems. Most of the time, a cold just disappears after pestering you for a week or two. But nevertheless, you have to do your best to overcome this nuisance.
