5 Benefits of Using Solar Energy to Power Your Home

Many of us these days are moving toward "going green". For some of us it is out of respect for our beloved planet Earth. For others, it's a matter of wanting to put money back in our pockets. Either way, using solar energy to power your home is a fantastic way to do both.

Here are 5 reasons you SHOULD be using solar to power your home starting TODAY:

  • Saves Big Time Money - This is probably one of the best reasons there is. After your initial investment (which is very low if you buy a guide and build solar panels yourself, it's easy!) and installation of your solar energy system, you will start seeing just how awesome it is to be using this clean form of energy. You will see major decreases in your electricity bill. If you produce enough power with the solar system you can even get rid of your electricity bill altogether! And if you produce more energy than what you use in your home, you can even sell it back to your power company for cash.
  • Green and Clean - Solar energy is completely green and clean. It harnesses the massive power of the sun and converts it into electricity. There are no fossil fuels or nonrenewable energy sources being consumed. It is completely safe for you and the planet. And with the massive damage we've done to planet Earth over the years, it's time we start moving toward an eco-friendly way of powering our homes and more. We can't afford to keep destroying the Earth, or the energy bills!
  • Easily Maintained and Low-Cost - After your initial purchase of a how-to guide and materials (a very low cost compared to buying pre-made solar panels) there is absolutely NO additional costs for maintaining your solar energy powerhouse. Unless you'd like to add more panels, of course! These things last a lifetime and are well worth the time and effort of installation.
  • Government Help - That's right. For any modification that you do to your home that is for the purpose of becoming more energy efficient, the government is now giving out tax breaks and credits to reward those who do so. The more you do to your home (i.e use energy efficient light bulbs, appliances, use solar to power your home, etc) the more you save in taxes. That's an added bonus to the money you'll already be saving on your bills!
  • Easy to Do Yourself - Yes, you can build and install your solar powered panels yourself. It is easy and by far the most cost effective way to go. All you have to do is get a how-to guide and purchase materials. Again, the price you'll pay to purchase the materials and complete this project yourself is a FRACTION of what you'd pay for pre-made systems. And it only takes a weekend to three days to complete the project. It's that simple.
