Different Styles of Vinyl Replacement Windows

The different styles of vinyl replacement windows are double hung, picture, casement, awning, garden, bow & bay, architectural, sliding, basement, Hurd twin, and Hurd. Double hung windows are divided into two sections. One section can slide up and the other section can slide down. This style of windows can open only lower half or upper half at a time, both can never be opened at the same time. Many homemakers like double hung windows because they are good at inhibiting air intrusion into the house and have a classic appearance. Picture windows can be placed in many areas of the house because they can maximize light. Picture windows have become popular. Picture windows are energy and cost efficient. Energy efficient windows can save upto $ 340 per year in heating and cooling bills alone. Picture windows are available in different materials like wood, vinyl, aluminum, and clad-windows. Picture windows come in different shapes; there are picture windows that can match every style or taste.  When you open casement windows, you swing the entire window open.

Awning windows are also called as hopper windows. Awning windows have interior screens, and are easy to clean. These types of windows are mostly used in schools and apartment buildings. These are energy efficient windows. These types of windows are very attractive and functional and can go along with any type of architecture and decor. Awning windows are sealed tightly as this protects better against wind, rain or weather stripping. Bay windows increases the flow of natural light into a building as well as outside views can be seen which would not be seen with an ordinary window. Bay windows are mostly seen in San Francisco because they have limited space.  Bay window is a window space projecting outward from the main walls of a building and forming a bay in a room, either square or polygonal in plan.

Basement windows are opened to the outside. These windows have light and fresh air. Since these windows are at ground level burglars may target that particular home. So the solution for this is the basement can be locked from the inside, so that the burglars cannot enter the main residence from the basement. Cold air can leak into the house through basement windows. To prevent high heating bills, it is important that window seals have insulation to hold in heat. Slider windows have a nice, clean look and more durable than other window styles. Slider windows come in wide range of styles, colors, and other materials. They are available in single, double, or triple hung styles. One important thing to be kept in mind before installing a slider window is the material that is used. The materials that can be used include wood, vinyl, aluminum, and clad window. Bow windows offer a bit more ventilation than bay windows. These are constructed of four or more casement windows in a curve. As times have changed the styles of windows have also changed. Get your windows replaced so that your energy bills reduce and the windows look beautiful.
