Easy Ways To Cut Energy Bills

Posted: Nov 06, 2009 | Comments: 0 | Views: 3 | Bookmark and Share

The utility companies will do what they want to do when it comes to prices.  While we can't control them there are some easy things we can do that will help us cut energy bills.

Many of the energy savings steps you take will have the added benefit of being 'green' which will help us lessen our negative impact on the environment by using fewer fossil fuels.

I've put together a list that can help you jump start your money saving efforts.  Not all of these things make a huge difference but they will all work together to save you significant amounts of money on your utility bills:

1. Tune up the furnace.  Have it professionally inspected and make whatever repairs are needed.  Also make sure to replace your furnace filters every month.

2. No matter how well your furnace is running you will still be spending more on utilities than you really should be if your house isn't insulated properly. Find out what the proper amount of insulation is for your home than add more if needed.

Also make sure to caulk any openings or holes in or around your doors and windows.  If you have old windows use a window insulating kit to make them more efficient.

3. Adding a programmable thermostat can help you keep the house at a comfortable temperature when you're there but lower, or raise in the summer, the temperature when you're not.

That savings can be huge since you don't have to keep your home at the optimum temperature when no one is home.

4.. If you really want to take control of your utility costs you should use wind power and build a turbine for your home. These are no longer the big ugly eyesores you've seen in the past.

Even one small turbine can save you up to 80% on your utility bills.

There you have it, some simple steps you can take starting right now, that will help you cut energy bills.  These things will save you money for years to come.

The average American family spends more than $1,600 a year on their home utility bills. Yet, there are so many ways to save energy, and save money. Addition factors of environmental pollution and concerns over Global Warming make these even more important. We can save money and reduce our production of pollutants at the same time, and it isn't hard to start.

Magnetic energy is generated by the polarity of the polls attracting and repelling each other. Using this attraction and repulsion, perpetual motion can be created and this motion can be converted into energy and electricity. The process of manipulating perpetual motion into electricity requires less energy than the system produces, thus producing free energy.

Considered as one of the most useful and popularly used alloys ever made by mankind, stainless steel can be found almost everywhere. Prevalently utilized for commercial and industrial purposes, this material's apparent high resistance to rust and stains has earned it the title for being "stainless".

This style of roof requires some unusual and complicated cuts that will be difficult to figure out on your own. You therefore need to get your hands on a good set of saltbox shed blueprints in order to get these cuts done accurately and efficiently. Remember, the number one thing that adds cost to your shed project is improper measuring and cutting.

I have built a few sheds in my day and the one thing I always try to do is make every square foot of the structure functional. A porch can not only give you a place to sit but it could act as a work station as well. And porches just look nice so the added value for the cost is worth it.

The acquiring of the wood was the easy part, there are a lot of folks who sell it from the back of their trucks and run ads in the newspaper or your town’s trading post. Convincing me that I needed to build some kind of storage shed for the wood was much harder to do and in fact, I refused to do it the first year and I ended up with a stack of wet, rotting wood.

One very important thing to remember is to not deck the roof on a windy day as the large surface of the boards can catch the wind and take you off the roof quite easily. Always get help handling the large roof trusses as well as the decking material.

Also, the wood you build the ramp with can get a thin layer of algae build up on it that when wet is slippery as ice and you could fall and injure yourself or your tractor could slip off to one side and result in a dangerous fall.

I should correct myself here and say that although I did try and draw the plans myself I actually ended up buying a set because even thought the structure seemed simple in concept it was really quite complex when it came to the design and I wanted it to meet current building codes.

The most important things I wanted in this shed was to be able to access my “stuff” whenever I needed it. I really did not want to have to pull everything out to get to the stuff in the back so I designed my shed with two set of doors, both in the front and in the back as well.

It’s more common that men will get a yeast infection from a sexual partner rather than developing it on their own, none the less it’s a serious condition that should be treated right away. The most common symptoms for a penile yeast infection are soreness, pain, swelling, or that the area will be red and tender.
