Myths to Watch for When Shopping for Your Windmill Electricity

There are a lot of companies online which claim to be able to sell you kits for building your own windmill electricity.  It can be very hard to pull the reputable ones out of the disreputable ones.  The best way to start is to weed out all of the ones with claims that sound great, but are actually false.  There are a number of things you should look out for when searching for a company to buy from; the following are the most common sales pitches to be avoided.

Quiet windmill electricity!

Windmill electricity is not quiet.  Even the simplest windmill electricity has a bit of hardware to it.  The blades will make noise, the batteries will make noise, and the larger the windmill electricity, the more noise it will make.  If you want windmill electricity, make sure you have somewhere to put it that's a bit of a distance from your house so that you're not disturbed by the sounds of machinery.

Will Never Harm Birds or Bats

This is a favorite tactic of companies pushing their product.  The fact is that windmill electricity, like dams and other sources of power, do carry some risk of harming the environment, mainly in the form of birds and bats that fly into the blades by accident and are injured and killed.  There are ways to minimize the damage-placing the windmill electricity  away from animal trafficked areas if you know them-but beyond that, you'll have to live with that fact that the occasional animal will be hurt and there's no way to avoid that.

Get on the Ground Floor Now/New Design/New Patent

There are only so many ways to build windmill electricity -around two or three.  Anything else is probably not going to work nearly as well as the standard.  Worse still, it may just be same generator, repackaged differently from the others and costing more to boot.  You're far better off going with an established company.

Works Well Even When the Wind is Hardly Blowing

This is simply not true.  The wind has to be blowing at a fairly brisk pace in order to produce any appreciable amount of energy.  This is because it takes a certain speed of wind in order to move the blades of the windmill electricity at all, let alone make it produce power.  If a company is claiming that their turbine can produce power at some ridiculously low speed, it's probably just marketing and not true at all.
Be very savvy when choosing which company to go with for your windmill electricity
