Storage Sheds Plans-Do I really need them?

The first thing to note about storage sheds plans is that there are so many of them.

From a simple lean to shed or playhouse for the kids up to the most intricate and aesthetically pleasing saltbox shed. In this article I look at the range available and why it is essential to start your project with plans in your hand.

The shed you want to build may be only for storing firewood in the winter, sheltering livestock from the elements or providing a nice playhouse type shed for your children. The range of designs and uses to which you can put your shed is enormous. And the temptation is to tear into the project simply because it is building something that is on a smaller scale to a house or other large building.

But this is where you can end up wasting a lot of time, especially on the weekend, and money. Just because the scale of the project is a smaller one than say building a house does not mean that you do not have to apply the same fundamental building principles as you would for a larger project.

You will still want to build something that will serve it’s purpose, stand the test of time and do it at the most affordable price you can. It is for these reasons that you will need to prepare well, have a good set of storage sheds plans close at hand and a detailed bill of materials.
