I see what you are saying but I still think it is a good idea to get a domain appraisal either way. Its always good to get a second look just to make sure you are buying or selling for the correct price. Sometimes it will also benefit either party to have an 'official' price to go off of. I generally use WeValuer.com to do my appraisals as it is pretty cheap. I definately wouldn't reccommend spending too much though as I have seen some sites charge up to $200 for an appraisal....to much in my eyes.

I agree with what Mike said about it is a good idea to still get an appraisal. I never buy or sell a domain name without a general idea of what it is worth. I like to use www.thewebsubmission.com for my appraisals. They only charge like $8.00 and they seem to be right on.
