The first thing to consider if your ebook sales are low is the amount of traffic that your sales page is getting. Marketing your ebook is just as important as writing it. You can have the best ebook in the world, but if no one visits your sales page, you will not make any sales.

If you are only sending 10 people a day to your sales page, you need to step up your marketing methods. The key to making money with an ebook (or any product on the Internet) is traffic. There are many traffic-building methods that you can use; writing articles, placing advertisements, pay per click programs, forums, email, etc. If the lack of traffic is your problem, make some sort of improvement to your traffic generating techniques.

The first order of business is analyzing your traffic. Install a good invisible counter on your ebook sales page. Then check the counter statistics every day and store these daily numbers in a spreadsheet. In addition, keep track of the number of sales that you generate. These statistics are vitally important to diagnose the reason for poor, or non-existent sales.

On average, ebooks on the Internet sell (or convert) at about one percent. That is, you can expect to sell one product for every one hundred people that visit your sales page. If a thousand people have visited your sales page and you’ve made 15 sales, you are doing quite well. On the other hand, if you only generated 4 sales, you need to make some adjustment to your sales page. That is the reason that you need to use a good stat counter, so you can keep track of these statistics and determine how you are doing.

By analyzing and keeping track of your ebook traffic and sales, you can determine the techniques required to increase your ebook sales.
