An average person in today's world seems to be having just about everything except time. As a result, they are embracing the Internet to do a lot of the work for them by way of online shopping. At the same they're gaining confidence with their online shopping and therefore they're becoming more demanding of e-tailers.
A recent online customer experience survey conducted by Allurent Holiday Shopping showed that 67% of online shoppers said their online shopping expectations had increased over the last year, and 66% of the respondents said that technology has improved and they expect online shopping to do so, also. So it would be good if we try to find out about the latest online shop features that a company need to provide to keep them happy and spending.
The most important thing is that the site must be secure. Shoppers don't want to get annoyed by calling or faxing in their credit card number, and they expect a site to protect their information. Incorporating PayPal is a very good idea and along with that include a full array of the traditional credit cards. If you are not able to provide trust and convenience, you won't win them over.
Product information should be meticulous. They are already transitioning from the ability to see and touch a product, try it on, read its packaging, and there is a leap of faith when online shopping minimizes this leap, an online retailer can maximize their trust. Pictures from various angles and a thorough description will help to eliminate the uncertainty faced by the shoppers.
Another method to bridge this gap is real time chatting. A link on every page that makes it clear that someone is standing by to support, provide information and answer questions will make it clear that you support your product and your customers.
So what are the things that you have to offer today's savvy shopper. Are they able to search your site and create a wish list? Are they able to view new products? Are they able to use discount codes and see real time shipping prices? Verify that inventory is available so there's no disappointment? Will they receive an order confirmation, and later, shipping information? Will your site email them when the item is back in stock? If all these things are there, then you might just win them back to your site.
