Golden Rules to be Followed While Web Designing to Make your Website Search Engine Friendly

Before being a topic of discussion or matter of attraction among visitors, a site should be able to reach the visitors. The question of attracting or retaining the customers comes later. Or in other words, I want to say that, today, success of a "well designed website" is not decided by its visual attractiveness but most importantly, friendliness to major search engines.

Thus, to help you get your well designed website popular among its targeted visitors, here are given few most effective SEO friendly website designing tips where web designers need to pay special attention towards web designing process during its early stage.

*Keep the content of your web pages keyword rich and of high quality. Visitors rely on search engine results and they will prefer the top ten results. So, include the most frequently and targeted keywords in your content so that you could be a favorite of not only search engines but your visitors as well.

*Left-hand side of the website should be kept without menu. In case, it is not possible then you can place some keyword-rich text at the top or above the left-hand menu for search engines to find it as the first thing to index.

*Headlines carry a higher weight and get rated with more importance than the rest of the web page by search engines. To make the full advantage of this fact, you should keep your headlines keyword rich but remember, unnecessary keyword stuffing may not be good for the website.

*Keep an impressive and keyword rich description and title for every page. However, there should be no more than 30 characters in title and 200 characters in description. You can win over search engines by fitting into their indexing criteria in the most adequate manner.

*Be careful while using graphics. Use graphics that make sense with the content placed at your site i.e. keep them relevant and don't forget to use an alt tag with relevant keywords so that search engines could get hold of them as search engine system is unable to read graphics. Moreover, it will help your visitors to have an idea about the graphic and relevance before it is loaded.

*Avoid using Flash in your website unless and until it is exceptionally required. You must know that till date, flash is out of reach of search engines and can not be read bots. Moreover, it increases the page loading time that will make your visitors to switch on to some other website. If desired, then keep the flash as small as possible, like a flash header.

*Try using text links to link out important pages of your website rather than images. Images may look attractive but it's more effective to use text links as they are better read by search engines.

*Do not believe in using frames for your website as frames limit the search engines to read and index the pages.

*Always use standard HTML to keep your page size optimum. Software like FrontPage and Dreamweaver or a WYSIWYG tends to add unwanted scripting codes that make it difficult for search engine spider to crawl and index the pages.

*Don't use complex tables while making layout for your pages. Keep them as simple as possible to attract the spiders to your pages. A complex navigation bar may hamper search engine spiders from navigating one page to another.

Make sure you follow these golden rules of website design and development. It would be a great idea if you assign your project to an established website design company that will create an effective website meeting all ESO standards, thus, ensure a good ranking among search engine results and attract unimaginable traffic to your website and boost your sales. .
