This is a question I get asked allot by people starting up in internet trading, it's an important part to get right so if you're still deciding which area to specialize in then take your time and make sure you find an area you're happy with and are confident you can make the best of in th ecomming months.
There is no easy answer to this question I'm afraid each person is different but careful research is the key. Don't rush things, take your time on the early decisions and the rest will be so much easier later on.
It's often useful to pick an area or niche you are interested in as you will be spending quite a bit of time working with the products so if you like what you sell it will stop you getting board and you may also already have experience and knowledge on the subject already. There is a high failer rate with new online busineses so its very important to have the focus and concentration there all the time so you can make it through the early stages and on to a prosperous careea.
Some traders like to sell seasonal and fashionable products, and that doesn't just mean clothes, they keep up with changing fashions and trends. Every once in a while a new product comes out and it's a "must have" thing. If you keep your eyes and ears open you can spot these trends and fashions early and you can get in on the action.
It's a much harder to keep a regular flow of stock coming in with seasonal and trend selling but the profits can often be much bigger than the norm.
A product area that's growing very popular onlie in recent times is homemade crafts, there are many people leaning a new skill and turning it into a business, this idea is not to be overlooked as you can often make good profits when you are the manufacturer, supplier and retailer all in one. If your crafts become very popular you can even supply other traders on a wholesale basis.
The key to good product selection is to identify the hot trends and get hold of them at the best terms and from a reliable source.
So how do you get hold of these great products?
Well, sign up to my fr.ee weekly E-Zine and I'll be giving you some ideas on how to do just that.
