I hope I can be of some assistance to others that are starting or or expanding online selling businesses and dealing with wholesale surplus and liquidators type consumer goods. More and more people are doing eBay or Amazon online sells as well as independent selling methods. Of course a key element in success is the wholesale liquidators or other surplus type supplier. The time is certainly right for your online sells business.

Here are some reasons why:

First, there are a lot of goods available. With companies closing and orders being canceled there is an abundance of consumer items in warehouses that the owners desperately need to sell... at some price.

Second, people are seeking bargains more now. The need for goods is still strong but is now more focused on price. Everyone, even those without good cash and income, are making the most of their dollars.

And third, internet sales are growing rapidly anyway even with the down turn in the economy. The traditional stores are hurting more than online volume simple because everyone sees the internet as the place to shop when looking for bargains.

Much of your sells success lies in the hands of people like the wholesale surplus liquidators and other bargain merchandise suppliers. If you can buy good quality goods at the right price then you can make a good profit... with a little work of course. But, if you surplus supplier doesn't do his part, then you will not succeed no matter how hard you work at it.

Here are things to look for in selecting your surplus liquidator:

1- Get business information from the wholesale liquidators you may want to use. They should have this readily available. If they seem reluctant to give you enough information to make a good decision about them then you should look else where.

2- Talk with other sellers that have bought from these wholesale suppliers recently. This is by far the best method of reassurance. But remember, everyone has somebody that will speak highly of them. Don't just take a name or two from the wholesale supplier. Get names from other sources too.

3- And finally, and most importantly, I advice you to join in with other sellers that do basically what you do and learn from them. A membership type group can give you great insight into who to do business with, what products do best, shipping ideas, bulk buying... you name it.

The more you know the less likely you will make critical mistakes.
