Sure gas prices have gone through the roof and beyond. People are complaining about losing their minds and wallets trying to fill up their cars and trucks. Everyone is scared about how much more the gas prices will go up and the media is feeding on this frenzy. If you succumb to this set of depressing thoughts and hyped up predictions of loom and doom, you are liable to get nowhere. Look for the silver lining in this mass of grey clouds; remember if you end up with a lemon, make lemonade out of it ( and sell it to make money or drink it for your enjoyment ).

Rising gas prices means it costs more to drive your car, right? Adjust to this and drive your car less – make fewer trips to shopping malls on weekends buying fewer pieces of junk and clutter and save money by buying only things you need. With the time that you gained, you can go for walks or play with your kids and neighbors thereby building a better bond. Read books and enhance your knowledge. If it is books related to your profession, you may actually end up making more money because your employer will now be impressed with your added knowledge. Instead of making a trip to your favorite restaurant and stuffing your body with greasy, fatty foods, cook at home and make cooking a family affair. You will enjoy the bonding you develop as well as the cooking skills you sharpened let alone the healthy meal you consumed. Do some yoga or meditation right in your living room without having to step outside and your body will thank you for treating it so well. You can always spend time on the internet e-mailing old friends and staying in touch with college friends and high school acquaintances. May be you can share your knowledge with the outside world by writing some original articles in your own line of interests. You dont even need a website to do this. There are several article directories that will accept high quality articles in various subjects from freelance authors. This way you could potentially help someone else also in your profession. Can you believe you can have so much fun simply by NOT driving around because gas prices went up!
