Portuguese and German Translation Workers Discuss Brazilian Economy

As a sign that developing countries have weathered the current recession far better than developing nations, the country of Brazil has earned investment grade status by all three of the major rating agencies including Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings.  The new designation means the Brazilian economy is solvent and can repay its debts.  With its new rating, Brazil joins both India and Romania who have similar ratings.  While the rating is a major achievement for the country, it still has a significant way to go to attain investment ratings that are on par with Germany, France, Australia and the U.S.

A Portuguese Translation worker at the Ibmec business school in Sao Paulo also considers Brazil’s promotion to investment-grade status an important step for its economy. According to the translator, “The Brazilian government has a very high level of spending in proportion to its Gross Domestic Product, and needs tax reforms.”  Other Certified Portuguese Translators believe that the new rating will lower the cost of acquiring investment capital and spur the development of new products, technologies and services.

According to a German Translation workers at Moody’s, the upgrade was primarily the result of an analysis of how various countries performed during the global recession.  The success of Brazil throughout the crisis can be attributed to including minimal weakening in the country's international reserve position and moderate deterioration in government debt indicators.  While the Brazilian economy contracted in Q4-2008, the country emerged from the recession in Q2-2009 and is forecasted to achieve 4.5-percent growth in 2010.  With a strong outlook, the opportunities for future upgrades remain very positive.
