Applying Neuro - Linguistic Method in Creative Writing

Not every person given a written assignment will complete it with no problems. Talent in writing is not rare but also not that frequent. For someone it is easier to express thoughts in oral form than to put it in writing. Some of pedagogic teachers tried to apply several methods and one of the best is Neuro-linguistic programming established by Robert Dilts that includes several methodologies that can be used. These methods help to organize thoughts into a coherent system of facts or statements on which the outline can be developed. This method requires a lot of practice, but extremely easy to use. It was developed when observing the working process of professional writers and some of their secrets are revealed in the methods proposed.

The main tasks of the method are the following: Focus on your senses and determine the one giving best perception to continue working and developing it along with tailoring the others; Use the language as an instrument of expression and find the adequate words for gestures we sometimes apply instead of words; Stay on task and concentrate on the main points that are introduced by this method. Composition starts from the title. If you haven't yet acquired a one, try to think of a headline that is going to be synonymous to the thesis statement. If you were given a definite task, try to think it over carefully. It may be a good advice to create a plan and even a chronological or functional sketch of what are you going to write about. Be careful choosing the style of your composition. It may be a narration, a description or a simple recollection of the heard and written. Make sure that the style you choose corresponds to general requirements given to you by your tutor. After this small investigation you may start thinking about applying some of the mentioned below methods.

  1. If this is your first try to accomplish a good grade for your written assignment and you have definite problems with making bridges between ideas use the following method. Choose a connection word you use frequently and put it at the end of each sentence in your mind to have the idea of the previous sentence in front of you. 2. Interchangeability is a good feature the English language has. Why not to use it? Interchange some of the connection words in your text to make it brighter. 3. Alteration can also be applied to any text you need to edit. There are a lot of synonymous expressions that can be used in the assignment to make it look literate and informative. 4. You can mix all these methods to establish one that suits you best and master your skills with every written assignment. Neuro-Linguistic Method is a optimal solution in writing skill improvement procedure and maybe if united with other linguistic methods it may become a powerful tool that will make a genius out of you.
