Be A Sailor On A Sailing Holiday

Have you ever fancied the idea of being a sailor?  A sailing holiday can be a wonderful way to get away from it all.  Travelling around on the water in your own boat is something that will give you a real sense of accomplishment and it can be an incredibly relaxing thing to do.  Sailing is something that has gone on for hundreds of years.  We have always used the oceans for trade, fishing and exploration.

Perhaps you have already had some experience of boats and you would like to learn more?  Whether you are a complete novice or a semi-skilled skipper then there are plenty of places that offer learn to sail courses.  The best way of finding them is on the internet.

A lot of the websites that run these courses are the same ones where you can book a sailing holiday.  If they run courses then it will have a link to the relevant section on the main page.  It should also tell you what qualifications they have so you know that you will be in safe hands whilst training.  The length of each course will vary and it is worth having a look at a few different websites to get an idea of what is on offer.

If you like the idea of doing a sailing course but you have never spent any time on a boat then there is another way that you can go about it.  Why not try booking a holiday on a boat to see how well you get on?  Sometimes we like the idea of something but the reality is quite different…

When you go on a sailing holiday you can spend some time becoming familiar with the boat.  There will be plenty of different things to learn from watching how the crew organize everything and some companies actually encourage you to have a go at helping.  This can be a really good way of finding out if sailing really is something for you.

If you get onto the boat and go off the idea of doing it yourself then it is no great loss.  If you are sailing with a company that allows you to become a crew member then remember that this is optional.  No-one is going to mind if you choose to just sit around and relax.  After all, this is a sailing holiday not a slave ship!  Lots of people who book a holiday will spend the majority of their time with a good book.

When you go off on one of these trips you will be taken to some really interesting places.  There are all kinds of beautiful bays and coves to look at whilst you are on your travels.  Some companies will also include stops at certain places where you can go and have a look at the local shops and markets.

Whatever you decide to do about learning to sail, you will still have a great time on one of these holidays and it will be a truly unique experience.

Minimising Human Error During HSC Exams

By: Amarendra | 07/12/2009
By virtue of its definition, human error is something we all do. In the more quantitative HSC subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, human error can be a big cause of losing marks in exams. For example, how often have you walked out of an exam room, and realise only moments later that you've lost a few marks in a question or two due to 'silly mistakes'? Or when, coming out of an exam room, you chat with your friends about how they did question X Y Z etc.
