In 1924, Delta State University was established, but in 1925, the Delta State Teachers College opened its gate to the learners for the first time. In 1955 the name of Delta State Teachers College changed in to Delta State College and after that it is again changed in to Delta State University in 1974. Almost 3,200 students take admission annually in Delta State’s degree programs for undergraduates with an extra 600 students enrolled in professional level and post-graduate programs. Approximately, 40% students live in on-campus lodging. Delta State offers women’s dormitories, men dormitories, and they also provide housing facility for those students who are married.
Delta State University is also known as regional public university, which is situated in Cleveland, Mississippi. This university is one among the eight universities that is publicly funded in Mississippi. Delta State University awards the voluntary degree to those students who have finished the session with the meritorious and significant contributions to this university and other places of society and generally, higher education.
