Emergency Shelter and Sleeping Gear

When a crisis occurs the basic survival elements that are required by the victim include supportive medication or treatment, water, food, shelter and clothing. It is always best to keep a first aid kit and some emergency supplies with you no matter whether you are going out or are sitting secured inside your home. You never know when a normal day turns into a possible emergency situation.

Emergency shelter and sleeping bags are required if such a crisis has made victims of you and your family. In responding to such situations, keep solar bags, solar blankets, air mattresses, pop up canopies, flashlights and blankets ready. Suppose you are stranded in your car on a hot day, you can always use the solar blanket on the windows to deflect the sun and to keep your car cooler. When it is extremely cold a solar blanket works wonders to keep you warm.

Some important shelter and sleeping items to have with your emergency kit are listed below:

Air Mattress: An air mattress can be used as an ultimate travel bed. Use it in your tent or van or use it as an extra bed air mattress is perfect for all times and situations. Generally the air mattresses are made of some heavy duty PVC materials which are both durable, comfortable, and fold nicely.

Folding Pillow: A Folding pillow can be used while traveling, camping and even during emergencies. These durable and handy pillows are great for sleeping and/or making the injured comfortable.

Canopy: Generally these canopies are made waterproof, with UV ray-blocking and fire repulsive material. These canopies are easily folded and can be carried anywhere, tied downs may be needed in windy weather. These are great for setting up sleeping and shelters, outdoor work stations, or for processing injured people.

Canopy shower rooms: During a crisis even the thought of bathing oneself appears as an odd concept. A quick solution to this problem is canopy shower rooms available in the market that can be used with the desired effect during any crisis.

Most of the emergency preparedness supplies available for sleeping and shelter can easily be folded, deflated and stored even in any small or restricted space. While preparing your emergency gear, make sure to provide all the necessary supplies which you may need to take shelter. You never know when you will need emergency sleeping and shelter gear.

Often solar blankets, flashlights and rain gear will form the basic supplies of your emergency shelter and sleeping gear. Adding advanced products like pop-up canopies, folding pillows, air mattresses and others have also become popular. In addition, rain gear like ponchos, rain suites, and even umbrellas may be good items to include.

You can never predict a natural disaster and being prepared in advance as much as possible in always the best and safest thing to do.
