Exchange Programs: Gaining International Experience Originally, exchange programs are destined for exchanging cultural, language, and social experience. The exchange of students provides a lot of perspectives for self-development. Students will have to live in foreign families that are monitored by the program. In the United States, this program has certain requirements that should be met by those who want to participate in this activity. But before filling in all the documents, students should first think over the reason they want to travel abroad because the returned members are not entirely satisfied with the results. What are the main types of exchanges? There are two main kinds of the program: long-term exchanges and a short-term one. The former is meant for a six-to-ten months' period where the participant should attend class in high school through a student visa. The latter kind is meant for a summer period and, therefore, students do not have to attend schools. Instead, they are provided with a succinct introduction to languages of the countries they live with a particular emphasis on cultural learning. How can students benefit from exchange programs? 1.
