75% of students have to pay for education. And only 15% receive financial aid either from university, or from government. These aids are of following forms: scholarships,  fellowships,  assistantships.  Other 10% of students use other sources of financial aid such as private funds. The competition to receive financial aid is rather difficult. Students have to compete with many people who can have deeper knowledge than they do. Especially, such competitions are extremely hard for foreign students, as their science knowledge can be on desired level, though their English is rather poor. Types of Financial Aid. Full financial aid includes stipendium and all expenses for education. But it should be taken into account that even in case of full financial aid; a student will have to pay for the transport, food, campus and other expenses. In many cases universities offer partial financial aid of following kinds: Teaching Assistantships – financial aid given in case if a student works as a teacher's assistant;  Research Assistantships – financial aid in case if a student carries out some research works;  Fellowships – full financial aid, given to the best aspirants. Private Funds. Aspirants and students can apply for financial aid in private funds. There is a certain list of organizations providing special financial aid to certain categories of people. Usually such funds give financial aid also on competitive basis, though it is much easier to receive their grant than state financial aid. Financial aid provided to students is a good chance for people having not enough money to pay for education, to receive their profession and to become better specialists. Of course, you can take credits for education, but in some cases they cost too much and some people cannot cover these expenses. Besides, financial aid sometimes indicates the level of your knowledge, as competitions to receive it are really hard, but they deserve the efforts.
