IIPM B School Chennai Week of the Gladiators

Club Torque conducted the “Week of the Gladiators” at the Montfort Indoor Stadium, Santhome higher secondary school at Santhome, Simpson & company ground and IIPM respectively.

The week started with the outdoor events at Santhome, “Week of the Gladiators” saw students participating with high spirits who had to compete with each other to prove their grit. Table Tennis, Carom and Chess were conducted at the IIPM Towers. The atmosphere could have been termed electric at the indoor stadium where students were sweating out. Soft ball cricket, Basketball, Volleyball & Badminton were the most sought after games which had a higher number of participation.  Carom & Chess saw more participation from students who preferred to stay cool in the summer, while their friends sweated out during Basket ball, Volleyball & Badminton matches.e

In fact, a large proportionate of the students turned out and participated in the soft ball cricket match which was conducted at the picturesque Simpson & Company ground opposite the Marina beach. The students felt it was a much needed break from their hectic class schedules and lengthy guest lectures. The students seemed to enjoy themselves through out. As usual there were a group of students who were always present to cheer their friends very enthusiastically. Overall a great fun filled week for the students…

“All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”. We at IIPM don’t want this is to happen. With this thing in mind, Torque conducted the “Week of the Gladiators” at the Montfort Indoor Stadium, Santhome higher secondary school at Santhome.  Table Tennis, Carom and Chess were conducted at the IIPM Towers itself.

The week started with the table tennis competition, “Week of the Gladiators” saw 83 students who had to compete with each other to prove their mettle. The atmosphere could have been termed electric with faculties and students sweating it out. Basketballs, Volleyball & Badminton were the most sought after games with higher number of participation. Carom & Badminton saw more participation from ladies, while gentlemen sweated out in Basket ball, Volleyball & Badminton.

The students felt it was a great break from their hectic academic schedule. The students enjoyed themselves and there were group of students who were always present to cheer the participating groups very enthusiastically. Overall a great week for the students…
