The Mom's Return to School Government Grant Scholarship (MRSGSS). 
What is the MRSGSS?
As the name implies the idea is to help single moms pick up from where they left off, educationally.True, the economy is not what it used to be. But education is one product that never loses its value come boom or bust. In fact recession times offer an opportunity that normal times don't usually do. Have a degree by the time the bust turns to boom.
MRSGSS hopes to be a giant leap towards that goal.
"Gotcha! Ok so now how do I go earning the scholarship?"
First decide on what you want to study. And also where you are going to study.
You also need to be aware of the tuition fee you would be paying. The MRSGSS presently sets a maximum grant of $5100, up from the earlier &4050;, and likely to be raised further. For a single mother there is unlikely to be another scheme that beats this.
Next apply for the federal grant, naming your institution of choice. Fill out the FAFSA form and submit it. You are done as far as the applying part is concerned.
"Wait a minute, you know I am a mom. I got kids I can't leave them and go to school."
No problem. You see, we are in the 21st century. You can stay at home, be a good mom and earn a degree. MRSGSS supports online study programs too. In fact most beneficiaries of the scheme are online, off campus students. So choose a good online school and mouse your way through college.
"Do I get any credit on my Tax if I avail of MRSGSS?"
According to The American Opportunity Tax Credit program, your first $4000 paid as tuition will be exempt from taxation.
"Anything else?"
