Hi
Management is not about doing the right thing; it's about doing things right.' What would you say to a workshop that begins with such an overtly amoral piece of advice? But before you can voice your opinion, the 20-something ponytailed Arindam Chaudhari has already shifted gears and is talking of people as the basis of any good company: "It’s actually people power which decides your future." says Chaudhari to a spell-boun d audience comprising senior corporate executives. The occasion Is a two-dav workshop in New Delhi on cultivating leadership, motivation and a positive personality Chaudhari is not a New Age management guru. Instead, he is a hardcore management consultant who knows that motivation and an emphatic understanding of human potential are imperative ingredients for any success story. And to drive home this fundamental point, the mercurial workshop leader intersperses his talks with interactive games and hilarious anecdotes. He even tries to give a relevant tone of modernity to the Bhagavad Gita's age-old aphorisms "Krishna." says Chaudhari, "was not a god. He was simply a brilliant manager.
And the secret of his managerial skill lay in understanding every human being's psychology." The result is a journey that illustrates all the nuances of human resource management while unravelling your own self to you. You don't need to be a corporate person to gauge the full impact of such a workshop.
A postgraduate in economics, Chaudhari is an expert in the area of macro motivation. He is also dean at the Delhi-based Indian Institute of Planning and Management. Chaudhari has conducted similar workshops for various multinationals in India. His aim. as he succinctly puts it while introducing the concept of motivation is "to show you your own potential. The rest will follow".
