Learning how to perform well in a security related job is crucial for those who are considering a stable and rewarding career. According to the applicant interests there are several qualifications which can be acquired through proper training, some of them are: SIA security gurad and door supervisor, CCTV operator and even conflict management.
In the UK all security qualifications have been set by the SIA also known as the security industry authority. As you may know security is a serious field, one which requires dedicated training in order for those performing security functions to deliver a great service each time. In order to qualify for these important positions (Door supervisor/Security guard), applicants must always understand and have knowledge of concepts such as:
- The law relevant to the industry: Following the private security industry act of 2001, security personnel and agencies must be aware of the rules and regulations established by the SIA. Some of these rules establish a thorough background inspection on security personnel in order to avoid individuals with prior criminal records from qualifying and working in security positions.
- Other functions door supervisors must perform are: controlling entry to premises, being completely aware of fire procedures in case of emergencies, have a good understanding of health and safety procedures, know how to search people and their property, recognizing and defusing conflict, etc.
Another position which is currently in demand in the security industry is CCTV operator. CCTV is the abreviated term or acronym for the term closed circuit television. The purpose of these devices is to guard premises and comply with securities procedures, however operators of these devices shoul be aware of legislations which govern the way these operations are handled, that's why not everyone can jump in an manage a CCTV station. Legislations which regulate these positions are (but not limited to) "The data protection act of 1998" and even the "Humans Right Act of 1998" should be taken into account.
Other functions of CCTV operators include: operational procedures and knowledge of SIA codes, use of CCTV equipment, control room communication, knowing how to deal with incidents, CCTV surveillance techniques, etc.
As you see these are demanding fields which require proper training and knowledge of SIA regulations that's why it is a requirement to train security personnel with qualified agencies which follow all of these procedures and regulations in order to keep the UK security industry tranparent and reliable.

I had shared my HSBC Credit Data for booking of Internation Airticket through Customer Service Representative of Makemytrip over phone. for Jet Airways Flight from Kolkata - Delhi - London on 18th Aug 2008. [Ref. Reservation Code WKKVC] I discovered on 5th Sep 2008 that my Card data has been used to make some Bookings favouring "Shree Raj Tours & Travels" , Mumbai on 31-Aug and 01-Oct worth Rs. 38,000/- (approx.) I have been mailing everybody since then including Customer Care Representatives and service@makemytrip.com about the case. I got a mail today after investigation from Makemytrip that these bookings have been done by some Agent in Mumbai and makemytrip has no role here. I feel seriously betrayed by Makemytrip for sharing my data first and not helping me salvage the money or catch the culprit and totally disowning the incident. I fear now that I shall be forced to pay the due amount of Rs. 38,000/- I am in a Foreign location and donot have enough cash to repay the wrong amount on Credit Card. After informing HSBC about my Credit Card misuse, my Card is blocked and I am literally having a very tough time financially without the Card which is cancelled since 05-Sep-08. Forget the agony of mails, Phone calls to banks, Makemytrip, Raj Travel anf Family members for follow up Please advise suitable action at singhden@gmail.com

I received my VA pension in 1992. A few years later I was awarded 10% service connection. I was able to purchase a house and a few years later I moved my Mother in because she couldn't take care of herself alone. Mom supplied more than half of the household income until she passed on June 5th of this year. Now, it's impossible to exist with the small $931.00 I receive from the VA and the $10.00 food stamps per month I receive. Is there any program available to help me?
