Uniform Education system and its advantages for Pakistanis

Pakistan has come into existence on 14 August 1947 after partition and it is still struggling with its educational policy.  If we see the history of Pakistani area before partition in different times, it paints dramatic picture. Education was at high level during Islamic periods and declines during British Raj. British just used education to had clerical staff for administration and government. They did not put strong effort in the education section.  At that time, education system was very different in the different cities, which are now called as Pakistan. Punjab and Sindh had few educational institutions while NWFP and Baluchistan had religious educational institutions.

Pakistani administration is working very hard to find the effective solution of education system, which is for everybody and in single form all over the country. It is very important now that we should have a uniform education system all over the country and government should take a step to request all government officials to send their children’s to government institutions to make it more better.

There are so many advantages of uniform education system in Pakistan:

1. The basic needs of every Pakistani is get education and it is also important to treat people equally by providing them uniform education system due to which class concept will be eliminated and everybody can get better education.

2. If we will have uniform education system in Pakistan, poor children can get better education along with the other different sectors of population and can learn better things.

3. Race and Gender discrimination in education sector will be reduced.

4. Government institutions will get more brighter students, which are now going to private ones due to difference in education system.

5. Students of backward cities will not need to travel to big cities to get good education if we will have a uniform education system and they will get the equal system in there own cities with government institution.

6. Public – Private partnerships will be formed, to have better institution under uniform system and government may use the services of private staff and management officials to upgrade their institutions.

7. Free and good education system all over Pakistan can change the whole country by allowing those who are going to the wrong directions i-e for terrorism and drugs.

8. Single education system all over the country will stop all political interventions in the education system and will produce a highly respected system all over.

9. Uniform education system will help the children’s of government officials, who transferred one city from other time to time, but due to huge differences in education system, their children’s have to either leave them to stay in their old institutions or they have to spend long time to understand the other system.

10. At this time, Pakistan has very less number of foreign students, compared to countries in Asian region, due to lack of sound and uniform education system. Uniform education system can improve the situation and our own Pakistanis living abroad can join the institutions.

11. Uniform education system will provide more opportunities for women to get a good level of education and that can produce a great society.

12. Uniform education system will proceed towards sustainable education, which may lead to stronger socio-economic system.

Education department and its committees need to solve their differences among officials and provinces so a uniform model can be possible. It is the time to take this decision and unite every stakeholders involved in decision-making.
