When I Think About the Modern Business Education

There are some juniors who are familiar with me asking about how to pursue their education in a university. It comes to my mind about how we choose ways to enter into the university; it is quite different from when I was at their age.

The world has changed a lot from 20 years ago. Therefore, now what we should consider, then?

I turn my look at the history of the university first. The Business University should hold the long history as this proves the quality of experience. It should be the place where academic theories and business experiences are integrated to produce graduates who can successfully meet today business challenges.

Secondly, I focus on how the university has put the vision and mission. The university with the vision to be the leading university in the region usually tries to push itself on comparison with the benchmarks of international standards. With the strong vision, there follows the strong mission to reach the goal. Emphasis is given to how the university produces quality graduates with academic and business abilities and ethics, equipped the faculty memberss, staff and students with distinguished abilities in English, information technology and business.

Thirdly, I look at the university relationship with the external orgranizations. On certain ground, some universities have been established from the business organization, such the Chamber of Commerce. When the university grows up, the relationship with the Chamber of Commerce also is strengthened. This creates synergy and business impartation. The university can reap the benefits of precious business resources in form of business information, news and human resources, such as part-time lecturers from the successful businessmen and executives with invaluable knowledge and experiences.

Fourthly, the study environment is very important for we spend 4 or more years in the university. We spend half of our time then in the university. The good environment creates the eagerness to pursue the knowledge as a worker productivity is high in a company with good working environment. The university should have low faculty-student ratio and small class size. The university should hold finely developed academic programs to enhance student's skills. The university should have full faculties to comply with the modern style teaching environment.

This is called Modern Teaching Approach. Students will not only study textbooks in classrooms but also practice through seminars, case study, topics problem solving and analysis, presentation with concept and simulation. These learning methods provide the students opportunities to exchange ideas and enhance their communication skills and teamwork ability.

Fifthly, the university network with other universities. Academic cooperation and partnership with other leading education institutes domestically and overseas provide all extended resources around the world. The university may sign academic agreements and form the alliance cooperation among other schools to exchange the academic programs, workshops, trainings and students.

Last but not least, other surrounding facilities also pay key roles. That is, renovated classrooms, wireless Internet within the campus, communication channel broadcasting, Post office, financial facility such as Banks and recreational facity such as Fitness center.

It has passed my time to choose a university for my own. However, when there are questions from juniors asking for my guidelines now, it may be a good time I should think updatedly for them and for my own children.
