Uninterruptible power supply is necessary to prevent computer hardware as well as software from damage. It is also necessary to let the user work with complete concentration without any interruption. Today it has become an inevitable part of the computer system. In this case if there is need for long autonomy the battery is not allowed to be discharged so far.
Next component is inverter which provides alternating current output to the load, which is in phase with the input mains supply. It is also termed as clean supply due to the number of conversions from ac to dc and from dc to ac as well as because of the filtering involved in it. Static switch switches the load between utility mains supply and inverter. The connection between both of them is seamless and because of this arrangement if inverter experiences the situation of overloading, it will transfer the load to the more resilient mains supply due to its fast over-current detection circuits. Maintenance bypass let the load to be transferred to the utility mains and also to the UPS to be shutdown under controlled conditions. External maintenance bypass helps the UPS to be removed or replaced without causing any interruption to the load.
