Cylindrical pressure vessel is a vessel with fixed radius and thickness subjected to internal gage pressure. This cylindrical vessel has an axial symmetry. Pressure vessel has a temperature that exceeds 750˚F and therefore the safety measure is of very much important. Vessels are created using three methods forging, welding and brazing. All the methods involve heating of metal pieces and joining them together. Forging refers to the formation of metal parts through the application heat and pressure. Welding refers to the process of joining two similar metal pieces. Finally brazing refers to the process of filling the space between the metals with non-ferrous metal.
Cracks and damage in vessels may cause severe rupture failure and leakage. Rupture failure may cause severe damage to life and property. Leaking of vessel causes severe health problems like suffocation, fire and explosion hazardous. These problems can be rectified by proper use and regular inspection.
