Generally speaking, the HDTV will give you a higher quality image then the EDTV screen, however, the EDTV plasma screen may perform better with lower quality video input signals, such as satellite, regular cable and DVD. If you have a lot of HDTV channels it would be more beneficial to purchase the HDTV plasma screen. Either way both plasma screens will produce a high quality viewing experience from any compatible signal.
If you are considering purchasing a used Plasma television then beware of some older model Plasma televisions that may have screen burn-in damage. Over time if some areas of the screen are used more frequently then others such as a menu bar or other graphical image then this may result in a permanent indentation of the image in the screen. Over time the image quality will decline and the result is an overall muddy picture. Due to better technology, the newer plasma televisions are less likely to have this problem.

I have a Hitachi Plasma TV(42HDS52A). The Tv can be on for a few hrs and then a 1"vertical blinking blue line appears on the right side of the TV. This line then turns to a solid light yellow line. If you take the station out of HD eventually the line starts blinking medium blue and then goes away for a while. This has been going on for a year. The line does not burn into the TV. Samsung AV equipment not working together, "searching for signal"

I have a new Samsung LN46A550 LCD TV and a Samsung 1080P8 DVD player. I was getting a "searching for signal" error frequently when using the DVD player. I have no such problem with the cable from the digital cable box. I changed HDMI cables, no change. I exchanged DVD player, no change. I had the TV exchanged, no change. What isn't communicating like it should? It doesn't have a problem when I use the component cables. I want to use the HDMI hook-up so I would only need 1 remote for TV and DVD player. Is there something in a menu on either piece of equipment that I need to turn on or off? Thank you.

I have a 42' Plasma tv. I got a new cable box from comcast. The picture was great but the DVR didn't work so I called them. They sent a signal to the box . It didn't work so they did it again and again. On the 4th time they sent it my tv blinked and then i got a scrambled looking picture and then it went black. I ask her what she did and she said nothing that would damage my tv. So I unhooked the cable box and hooked the cable to the tv. I still have no picture. Can sending a signal to a cable box damage the tv? I talked to one of there techs and he said they shouldn't of sent more than 2 singnals to the box because it will damage the box. All the other tv's in the house still work. Thanks for your help.
