One of the best ways to build your email list is by using landing pages. These web pages are just like mini sales pages. You can use them in conjunction with advertising like Google Adwords or search engine traffic from engines like Google. Article distribution can also bring in good traffic.
How it works: the searcher clicks on your ad link and goes to your landing page. Then they sign up for list, via your website subscription box. Your autoresponder will automatically add them to your list.
The elements of a good landing page:
Headline: firstly you must make an attention grabbing headline. You want your reader to sit up and take notice. He will then be more inclined to read the entire landing page.Benefits: after your introduction you will bring forward the benefits of signing up for your newsletter. This is how you will persuade your reader to join your list.Free gift: this is the little reward for subscribing. It helps to offer an incentive for joining your list. You can offer one or more freebies. Be sure they have value and are targeted to your market.Call to action: make sure this is strong and direct. A subscription box should be on this page.
Presentation:
Make it look good: it is very important to make your landing page look good. This will give your visitor a good impression of your business and increase your credibility. People will not want to sign up for a list if the landing page looks shoddy.Use bullets: bullets are good attention getters. They will emphasize benefits and help to persuade visitors to join your list. Be personal: always write any sales copy with a personal touch. People like this and will be more inclined to sign up with you.
Landing pages can be used to build your list initially. They can also be used to test promotions so that you can build your list quicker and with the most targeted people. Landing pages will take a little time to set up properly but once they are done, then you can put your list building on auto pilot.
Another important part of building your list with landing pages is to drive traffic to it. This can be done in several ways:
PPC advertising with Google Adwords: this will bring you plenty of targeted traffic and you could be getting sign ups within hours.Articles distribution: this is easy to do, just write some articles and submit them to the major article directories. You will get people coming and using them. This will get them distributed, plus you will get valuable back links.Search engine submission: you can use Google's optimizer to make your landing page search engine friendlyBlogging: You can set up a blog on Google's blogger.com or Wordpress and write short daily articles targeted to your market. These will link to your landing page and encourage people to sign up for your newsletter for more information.
