Nowadays, every person you know has an electronic mail. From sending your Curriculum Vitae to your prospect Company to simple exchanging of messages for a friend, indeed the email has obviously served its purpose. In these modern times, sales and promotion of various products across different places and industries can be possible through the Email Marketing.

All emails being sent to its intended recipients – a customer, prospect, or anyone who you think would benefit or would be interested to know and avail of a certain product would form part of Email Marketing. This helps in inviting new customers and persuading existing ones to buy or patronize a product or service being offered. This also aids in customer retention and loyalty as relationships are enhanced and maintained. Also, it could be a form of marketing through which advertisements are being incorporated in the emails being sent by different people. Don't be confused as this is a result of the ever-evolving technology. What is given to you through newsprints, snail mail, ads placed on subscription magazines or any published article is the same as that of marketing done through email, only that the mode how it is being sent and its restrictions are different.

There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages brought about by Email Marketing. One is that a huge number of people will tend to visit or browse sites per day which would mean that prior to doing this; they would have definitely checked theirs first. Next is that compared to snail mail or those that are distributed on prints, those that are sent through email have the much higher chances of reaching the exactly intended recipients. One disadvantage on the other hand, concerns permissions. A percentage of the email would just be junked into the Spam folder of one's account. Nevertheless, a remedy has been formulated to alleviate the disadvantages of this kind of marketing and that is Opt-in Email Advertising. This allows the intended recipient to decide whether he will be interested or not to receive advertisements or newsletters from the promoting company.  Moreover, another that helps in this type is the marketing software as these have a number of features which would help marketing a lot easier, more creative and effective in terms of feedback and statistical reports.
