What are the Characteristics of Entrepreneurs? Do they really have a state of mind that different from the rest of the world?
Let's start with the things that motivate entrepreneurs:
1. Freedom
2. Passion
Number one on that list is Freedom. Entrepreneurs are consumed with creating Freedom in their lives. They have a larger dream... a larger vision for themselves. Entrepreneurs are driven by the need to create huge amounts of Freedom in their lives.
Another of the Characteristics of Entrepreneurs is Passion. Entrepreneurs go after their goals and dreams with Unbridled Passion. They can Picture what they want so clearly in their head before it is reality that they honestly believe it is theirs before it comes to
fruition. This Passion for achieving their goals and dreams is the driving force behind many successful entrepreneurs.
So, the characteristics of entrepreneurs are a need for Freedom and the Passion to achieve it. What are the characteristics of an employee's mindset? What is an employee motivated by?
1. Security
2. Benefits
Employees are more motivated by Security and Benefits than Freedom. They want to know that as long as they show up for work everyday, their paycheck will be waiting for them on Friday. They don't mind trading their time for money, as long as they are rewarded at the end
of the week.
Now, a characteristic of entrepreneurs was a passion to create more in their lives. This is not to say that employees don't have passion for what they do. Some employees believe in and love what they do. They feel it is their calling.
However, this is not the case for the majority (95%) of the people I talk to everyday. Most people are not thrilled with their jobs... They are not satisfied with their jobs... They are looking for something more.
For the people that are looking to create more freedom in their lives and are wondering if they have the characteristics of entrepreneurs, I will offer this bit of advice... Figure out your passion and never quit chasing your dream. The benefits of success in entrepreneurship
can be infinitely rewarding.
