With the ecological issues we are facing in the present day and the increased prices that are placed upon us by our natural reserves being depleted. It is of value considering a few of the alternatives to undertake the responsible ecological path and minimise the amount we have to pay out. The issue that I am looking at today is the containment of water otherwise normally identified as rainwater collection to minimise water bills and afford you with a supply of water even in the times of a bad drought or a water ban.
The initial item you have to think about is that the run off water is channeling of a roof that isnt coated in a substance that will in some way pollute the water. If a roof is painted, tarred etc. it might have detergents and other chemicals in the rainwater that leech out of the treatments applied to the roof. The other thing to look at is the guttering, if it is constructed from lead (or the roof for as well) then avoid using the run off.
Storage vessels for collecting rainwater harvested using guttering can either be above or below the ground. Some things to think about in the use of storage tanks comprise provision of an satisfactory enclosure to minimize contamination from human, animal or other environmental contaminants, and a tight cover to stop algal growth. Depending on the size of your house and the amount of rainfall in your district, you can store a large amount of rainwater from your own roof. This extra stored water not only reduces your water bills, but becomes a garden-saver during times of droughts and the water restrictions.
With the basic models of rainwater storage a hose can be connected to the tank, and a small motorized pump which provides hand or sprinkler watering. Rainwater that is channeled back into homes for showers and toilets is run through filtering and treatment systems to remove any bacteria and small bits of material that may have flowed into the tanks. When rain first falls on a roof, it will wash down into the gutters, dust and other foreign material. All of this can be removed by filtration and then stored ready for your use.

Those who believe in the theory of man-made global warming have a very weak case. None of the 'factual' data they have produced has any credibility. Data covering a period of 110 years is statistically meaningless and has no bearing on what might happen in the future.
