Prime Attractions of Gangtok
Do-drul Chorten
The Do-drul Chorten or Stupa was built by the Venerable Trullshi Rimpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism, in 1945.
Inside the Stupa, there are complete mandala set of Dorjee Phurba (Vajra Kilaya), a set of KangOyur relics (Holy Books), complete 'Zung' (mantras) and other religious objects. Around the Chorten, which is one of the most important Stupas in Sikkim, are 108 Mani Lhakor (Prayer wheels).
These Prayer Wheels are turned by the devout Buddhist while chanting 'Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus', to invoke the Bodhisattva. The Chorten is surrounded by Chorten Lakahang and Guru Lakhang, where there are two huge statues of Guru Rimpoche (Guru Padamsambhava).
Enchey Monastery
This Monastery is 200 years old monastery, which stands three kms away from the city centre. This monastery was built on the site blessed by the great tantric master Lame Druptab Karpn, known for his flying powers. He is supposed to have built a small hermitage at the spot he reached after he flew from Maenam Hill in South Sikkim. Later during the reign of Sikyong Tulku (1909-1910), the present monastery was built in the shape of a Chinese Pagoda. The monastery, however, owes its present form to over 200 years of devoted work by its Nyingma sect of Buddhist monks. Every year around January "Chaam" or religious masked dance is performed.
Tashi View Point
About 6 or 7 kilometer from Gangtok town, Near Pangthang is Tashi View Point. It was built by the late King of Sikkim Sri. Tashi Namgyal and it's known for the awesome view of the Khangchendzonga, a small cafeteria is just below the Tashi View Point, which is an excellent point to relax with sip of Timi Tea or Cappuccino and refreshing view of Khanchendzonga.
Ganesh Tok:
It is a very small temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh, a deity worshipped by Hindus. The temple is so small in size that it can hardly accommodate one person and one has to crawl to get inside it. It is located on the hill adjoining the TV Tower. It is on a hillock on Gangtok-Nathula Road.

Some people are happy just to read about motorsport but for some, putting the dream into practice is what is required and adding an historic motorsport event to a holiday, is the perfect combination.
