Phuket Aquarium – a magical underwater world…

Managed by the southern Thailand government, The Phuket Aquarium is also an integral part of the internationally well known Phuket Marine Biological Centre or PMBC, the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The aquarium is a place that is rich in education, information and marine scientific news.

The main goal of the Phuket Aquarium however is to create awareness among children, youth, researchers, scientists and the general public as a whole on the different types of fresh water plants and coastal and marine life.

This astounding aquarium is ideally positioned on the southernmost tip of Cape Panwa on Phuket Island. The Aquarium is set amidst stunning bays and islands making it an exceptional place for family vacations and excursions. Today it has become a major tourist attraction on Phuket Island attracting more than 300,000 visitors each year.

Those who enter the Phuket Aquarium will feel as if though they enter in to magical underwater world. This amazing Thailand aquarium is home to more than 150 different types of marine and freshwater species. The majority of these vibrant and interesting underwater creatures are sourced from the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.

The interactive displays will take visitors on an environmental journey which is complete with breathtaking environmental features such as rivers, coral reefs, lakes and mangroves.
