Sarajevo, Bosnia/herzegovina - a Place Where the Myths and Future Meet

An ideal place to travel today is Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia/Herzegovina, not two countries only one. Bosnia is the northern part of the country and Herzegovina is the southern part of the country. Sarajevo is a little more south than north of the country’s center. Sarajevo has cold winters, hot summers and warmer autumns than summers, caused by the thermal influence of the Adriatic Sea
Alpine skiing slopes and the smaller slopes, of the Jahorina are perfect for skiing from October through May each year. Snow covers the Dinari Mountains for one hundred seventy-five days a year. Sarajevo was the site of the 1995 Olympic Snow Games. The number of hotels, motels, B & B, Guesthouses, student hotels and campsites is much larger today. Top-rated accommodations to fill every tourist’s needs are available in Sarajevo today. Great restaurants, shopping centers and grocery stores are readily available.
Beautiful glacial lakes in Treskavica Mountain with flora, fauna and fish like the trout found in the Great Lake will surprise and delight visitors. Coppersmith street, a must see site, from the 15th century coppersmith bazaar is unimaginable. The natural springs, of River Bosna is the source of the pure tasting, city water in Sarajevo. Towers, tombs, mountains, rivers and streams, breathtaking landscapes, museums, cultural, sports and education centers all add to the quality of tourism in Sarajevo today. The Obala Art Center for film makers, The National Theater, National Ballet Company and the Opera House are among the cultural accomplishments of Sarajevo.
