This was great, but the campingsites they offered us were not always suitable. In fact, I am pretty sure that sometimes they had given us the worst sites on the camping ground. If we had been camping in a camper it might have been okay. However, we were in tents, and there was no shade anywhere near our site. This meant that we were roasted out of our tent by eight in the morning. No chance for me there to get some sleep.

The next year, we asked for different camping sites, but they were not much better. More questions should have been asked. Questions like how much shade may or may not be there, and if there are any extras that might end up being very important. Some sites have running water and electricity (great for coffee!), and these are great, but not all of the sites on the grounds will have this. You have to find out before you accept the site they are offering to you, if that is something you insist on having.

Besides getting the right sites, booking for the right time is always important. Some of the most popular weekends will book fast, so you might not be able to get what you want, or you may end up with one of the really awful camping sites. It's similar to airline tickets at popular times of the season. If you are sure you are going, and you know the dates, reserve your camping sites as early as possible and remember to ask all the good questions.
