The Safest PWC Ever? - GTX SeaDoo iS 255

Probably the best known PWC or Jet Skis in the world, the GTX SeaDoo range, are made up in Canada by Bombadier. From the earliest models of 1994, huge leaps in design and technology have delivered us the up to date iS range. The GTX Seadoo iS 255 is an incredibly stable 3 seater PWC, designed with rider safety as paramount.

No longer do you have to hope gravity and friction will stop you in time when you back off the revs of your PWC, the GTX SeaDoo iS 255 is actually fitted with on-water brakes. This new GTX SeaDoo has received many accolades, including an award for maritime safety from the office of the U.S Coastguard for its new iControl system. This first on water brake (iBR) works by using reverse propulsion to slow the PWC quickly and smoothly, to stop the GTX SeaDoo in about half the distance a conventional craft would need when braking from top speed.

The GTX SeaDoo iS also boasts a fully functional suspension to provide amazing stability. The system keeps the seat and upper deck in a state of suspension from the hull and lower deck with around 150mm of travel thus considerably softening the ride produced. The upper deck has a gas shock absorber and spring system in the front under the handlebars and a swing arm mechanism at the rear. So, in effect, rider and passengers are constantly suspended front and rear and are protected from the buffeting that the water applies to the hull and lower deck.

Whether you want to cruise about using the GTX SeaDoo cruise control system or race to max. speed of 70 mph in calm conditions, the supercharged Rotax 4TEC engine, capable of developing up to 255hp delivers. Other innovations include an Off Throttle Assisted Steering System (O.T.A.S.) which makes the GTX SeaDoo much easier to maneuver at low speeds and combined with the iBR makes coming alongside and parking the craft a whole lot simpler.

Further GTX SeaDoo innovations include a deep water reboarding step that folds out. For ease of use when riding, the new tilt control steering system constantly adjusts the angle of the information center and steering. The Digital Information Center has a 26 function center with easy to read gauges for info at a glance. The touring seat is hinged and gives easy access to the engine compartment, and the stay-open struts mean it is always safely positioned.

A new standard has truly been set for PWC by the GTX SeaDoo iS 255. Not only does it give both riders and passengers an unparalleled on-water experience in terms of ride comfort and performance, but it also keeps them upright and safe whilst doing so.
