For the working woman, Ellen Tracy has definitely become a household name all over the world. This is because the clothes developed by Ellen Tracy are specially designed to encompass the classic and sensible look of the working woman. But take note, these clothes are never dull or boring because they still come with much style and elegance. Let's face the facts here: most of the professional women do not have the flaunting bodies of fashion models. The great thing about Ellen Tracy clothes is that they place more emphasis on the customers' needs, not the prevalent fashion trends.
Quite an amazing feat for Ellen Tracy, the founder of the company, right? Actually, this is not the case at all because interestingly, there is no Ellen Tracy behind the company at all. Yes, you read that right. It was in 1949 when the founder of the company, by the name of Herbert Gallen, decided to give the company a female name. Since the clothes to be made were for women, then Gallen thought to himself that his outfit should have a female name as well. He literally cooked up the name of Ellen Tracy. Since then, Ellen Tracy has become very popular amongst female professionals all over the world.
Historically speaking, the outfit has long been profitable. Of course, Ellen Tracy is not as huge an outfit as its competitors, such as Gucci. Still, it is considerably bigger than Isaac Mizrahi or Michael Kors. But the main thing that sets Ellen Tracy apart from its competitors is that it is run much like your ordinary business. Thanks to the guidance and expertise of Linda Allard, the outfit's head designer, Ellen Tracy has definitely taken to the fashion runway already.
Much like other fashion businesses, Ellen Tracy also ventured into the development of fragrances, with a licensing agreement made with Revlon Cosmetics back in 1992. In spite of its warm welcome, the development of such fragrances was cut short when Revlon decided to stop the production of their more prestigious product lines, and this included backing out from the agreement signed with Ellen Tracy. Nevertheless, this did not really place much of a dent when it comes to profits because Ellen Tracy has a very strong and stable market amongst female professionals worldwide.
