Jahanara – the new collection unveiled by Paayal enhances the aura of a woman by adding appeal and sophisticated charm. With the fusion of contemporary look and Indian story behind each piece, this Bridal collection tells the love tale of Mogul Emperor Shah Jahan and his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. "The word 'Jahanara' means Queen of the World and with this collection, I want every woman to feel special and important like a queen," she added. One of the high points is the usage of interchangeable stones. Every piece is dynamic and versatile with a strong and unique individual character." "I have used a lot of emeralds, rubies, sapphires and pearls and have handpicked them from various places. The pearls used in the collection are the best rounded pearls from South Asian Seas. Likewise, I have get the lustrous emeralds imported from Colombia and Zambia."
The collection comprises necklaces, earrings and bracelets in diamonds and polkas with precious stones like emeralds, rubies and pearls. Talking about the polka, the designer said, "Since polka is something which is worn with a graceful sari, I have given it a contemporary look by hanging it with a tassel, which one can flaunt with an evening wear also. This collection is something that a mother and daughter can share throughout their life." Accentuating on the wearability factor, Paayal has crafted pendants that can be worn both sides and the bracelets can be converted into chokers of a single piece. "My main aim was to offer luxury with value for money." The price range starts from Rs 30,000 and goes up to a lakh, depending on the value and size of the gemstones.
