It seems that even though we know how bad those four inch high heels are for our feet, we just can’t resist their pretty charm. The sensible thing to do would be to switch between high heeled shoes and flats or, even better, to wear flat shoes when you’re planning on doing a lot of walking or you know you’ll be in your shoes for a very long day. Another tip to bear in mind when shopping for shoes is to do with the look and the feel. It is advisable to never wear high heels that are; much over 4 inches, ill fitting or that aren’t a comfortable fit. This is because as well as increasing your chances or falling and injuring yourself, you’ll also run the risk of not looking your best whilst attempting to teeter down the road. However, regardless of the problems with high heels, there are a lot of positives that are associated with them as well which is no doubt why, even with endless choices of women’s shoes, boots and sandals to choose from, heels seem to remain the most popular. High heels make you appear taller: This may seem like an obvious statement but for the many women who would love to be that bit taller, heels are a fantastic and must have accessory. Heels make you appear slimmer: At a time when skinny jeans are still quite popular, it is great to always have your high heels to turn to when you want to look and feel thinner. The extra inches that the heels add to your height, make those extra inches on the hips seem to disappear. High heels can really add to your outfit: Many women wear heels to change the look of their outfit, for example, jeans and a t-shirt combined with heels looks a lot smarter and if you want your trouser suit to look a lot more feminine, adding heels can do this for you instantly. High heels can make you look and feel sexy: As soon as you put on a pair of heels, you may feel a lot sexier and this is as a result of your body stance changing, women always seem to maintain a better posture when wearing high heels. Heels don’t have to be very expensive: Don’t make the mistake of spending a fortune on a pair of high heeled shoes. A pair of cheap high heels can make you look and feel just as good as those designer shoes, boots or whatever other footwear takes your fancy without the hefty price tag. As well as all of these positives there are also some negatives with heels that should be addressed. Of course there’s the obvious problem of having sore feet, wearing high heels for long periods of time or very often can also lead to knee and back pain as well as many other foot problems. As well as this, high heels are also very difficult to walk in for most women and can therefore cause falls and injuries, especially if they are worn often.
