No, this does not mean that you need to spend top dollar to have a good time while you visit Hawaii. It does mean that you often get what you pay for. The accommodation that costs half the going rate could be a “diamond in the rough,” it’s true. It could also be a run-down abode full of cockroaches, mold and sketchy security, be located way too far off the beaten path or simply be a scam.

Shop around for the best deal, but request pictures and inquire about the cancelation policy before you make a commitment.
