How would you like to save up to 50% on a Bowflex Ultimate® 2 home gym? Here are some tips on purchasing a ‘used’ Bowflex® home gym that is usually barely used at all.
Overstock.com offers certified used Bowflex® home gyms. What does certified mean? It means that Bowflex® has thoroughly inspected the machine. With Overstock, you aren’t bidding, watching auctions or searching through a newspaper. You’ll save 26% to 33% off the retail price, pay only $2.95 for shipping and you have the option of no payments for 90 days. Payment plans and extended warranties are also available. One note: if you shop Overstock, check the listings daily because they go quickly!
Purchasing a Bowflex Ultimate® 2 on eBay is another great option. Used home gyms on eBay are often auctioned at discounted prices. Once you set up an account on eBay, you can opt for automatic e-mails to be sent if a new auction meets criteria which you set. For example, if you say you want a used Bowflex Ultimate® 2 machine that is within 50 miles of your location and you’re willing to begin with a $500 bid, eBay will send you an e-mail message any time this criteria is met. You can then watch the auction and determine whether or not you want to bid on the machine. One caution when shopping on eBay: most sellers won’t offer shipping on a home gym and if they did, the cost would be in the neighborhood of $300 to $500! Look for an auction of someone local so you can pick it up. One other consideration - the warranty won’t transfer. However, these home gyms are very well made and replacement parts are easy to find.
If you find a Bowflex Ultimate® 2 model that was sold prior to May 2004, make sure it has the “Repair Kit”. These gyms were recalled due to injuries sustained by some users. However, the Repair Kit takes care of the problem. You can also obtain one free of charge from the company, but it takes about 6 weeks for shipping.
Searching the newspaper is always an option. The advantage to looking at a used home gym in your local area is that you can see it first hand and actually try it out prior to purchasing the machine. No shipping costs would be incurred, which can be a great savings in itself. Always check for wear on the machine and request the Repair Kit if the machine was sold prior to May 2004.
If you are patient, you’ll be sure to find a Bowflex Ultimate® 2 home gym at a reasonable price!
