The Biggest Loser Tv Show is Required Viewing on Some Diet Programs

"The Biggest Loser" Tv Show is the first show to come along that can actually help dieters lose weight. In the past television was notorious for leaving dieters depressed and sabotaging their efforts. First there are the food commercials featuring the latest Wendy's triple or quadruple burger (they seem to get bigger every year) and who doesn't salivate at the sight of McDonald's hot, golden fries. So much for will power. Advertising agencies are paid millions to design these little brain teasers, that subconsciously send you straight to the nearest drive thru window!

When dieters aren't watching commercials, Tv shows filled with beautiful, thin people saturate the airwaves. In Hollywood, if an A-list actress shows the slightest hint of cellulite, she's likely to end up on the cover of the Enquirer! If the media publicly ridicules stars for an extra 5-10 pounds, what message does that send to people who are REALLY overweight? Not a good one! Television is also the culprit for causing millions to become lethargic couch potatoes. Ever sit down to watch one television program? It's almost impossible! Psychophysiologists have found that after 30 seconds of watching tv the human brain produces alpha waves. These brain waves are associated with hypnotic trance like states. If you end up watching 4 hours of television because you can't drag yourself away, you are right...literally.

The Biggest Loser Tv Show, now gives dieters at least one good reason to spend time in front of the tube. The show is required viewing for some diet programs. One weight loss plan tells their dieters "Treat your diet and exercise routine as if you were on a television show. You have all these people watching you progress and critiquing you along the way. You do not want to disappoint!" They rationalize that while some dieters just need to change some bad habits, most dieters need to change everything. Some diet experts say moderation is not doable for most, so an "all or nothing" approach is best. Take a bag of Potato Chips for example. You'll have some people who can eat a couple of chips and walk away, while others have to eat the entire bag. For those types it is far better just to avoid the chips altogether. The Biggest Loser Tv Show is a great example of this "all or nothing" concept.

To see others go through such an exhausting process and persevere not only gives them motivation; it prepares Dieters mentally on what to expect.
