Flights - Staying Dry in Thailand

For a taste of Asian culture, many western tourists and backpackers choose to visit Thailand during their trips, in order to enjoy the Buddhist temples, spicy foodstuffs and crystal clear coastal waters.

With a range of beautiful reefs and picturesque islands, wildlife holidays through dense jungles and national parks and health spas that offer the chance of some much needed relaxation, there’s something for everyone.

Cheap flights to Bangkok are usually the best option for those looking to visit the country. However it is best to shop around for flights, as there are also options to travel to different parts of the country by air.

The coastal town of Phuket is served by an airport, and remains one of the most popular destinations for western tourists.

However it is always best to plan ahead for visits by doing a bit of research, particularly into the unpredictable weather system around the continent of Asia, particularly when it comes to the rainy season – when the country is prone to the annual monsoon.

However there are some parts of the country which are less affected by the weather than others. If you’re visiting a coastal resort such as Phuket during the monsoon season it’s best to stay safe and not embark on boat tours and snorkelling tours during bad weather periods.

It is advised to try and plan your Thai holiday around the rainy season. And whilst flights may prove a little more expensive, you can lessen your chances of running into difficulties during the rainy season – when rainfall can be pretty fierce and frequent.

A  chevy blazer tv commercial was filmed in my home in 1996 and i have virtually an entire album of photos from the time the tv crew arrived as well as pictures of michael jordan in my home and pictures of michael jordan while  the commercial was being filmed. I have photos of michael in my family room with myself and my husband. I am trying to get an idea as to the value of the jacket. Can anyone help me? Thank you. Helen

From Maun (Botswana) to Pemba (Mozambique)
By: gkamin | 16-07-2008
Hi, I'm interested in planning my trip from Maun to Pemba (northern Mozambique) mid-October this year.   I've been told that the easiest way is to get from Maun to Johannesburg (by flight) and then take another flight from Johannesburg to Pemba. How much should this cost? Does anyone have information on Johannesburg-Pemba-Johannesburg flight prices?   I'm pretty sure that there's a much cheaper (although longer) way.   Has anyone tried traveling by land through Zambia (I'd rather not go through Zimbabwe) to northern Mozambique?   How long should it take counting only on public transportation (bus/train)? Is it possible to do this route in about 4 days? Is it possible to plan the stops in a way that will permit me to spend at least 2-3 nights in a bed and not on a bus? Are most of the buses in the area air-conditioned?   Someone told me that there's no problem in getting from Maun to Lusaka, and from there to the border with Mozambique, but that I'll meet most of my problems getting from the Mozambique border to Pemba. Somehow, that doesn't make much sense to me, but I'd really love to learn from someone else's experience.   Thanks
