Malaga Airport

After the recent changes, Malaga Airport has experienced great improvement. There is now a new parking area in addition to the free parking area that was there before. We advise you to use the fee parking area as it is monitored and much safer for you, your car and luggage.

You can now enjoy the new extension of terminal one, which include nine new check-in desks, three more boarding gates, and a new luggage carousel. The improvements have increased check-in times and the whole procedure is now much easier.

There are also new access roads being worked on along with a new bus terminal station. The changes had became a must as Malaga continues to expand and increase in popularity. The number of flights into Malaga Airport has increased dramatically over the last 10 years and the airport now has inbound flights from almost all major worldwide cities as well as hundreds of low costs flights from the UK.

Malaga Airport is becoming one of the most important airports in Spain, in the last year more than thirteen million people past through its three termindal and there are some expectations that this number is going to increase in the present year. Some delays on transport around the airport can be expected as further development work continues, the access is taking a little bit longer than usual so allow more time for your trip to and from the airport. From the arrival hall you can get access to different types of transport to reach your final destination, you can use the Malaga Airport shuttle bus service and there are regular trains from the airport station.  Alternatively there is always a queue of taxi’s waiting for you.

If you prefer to hire a car at the Malaga Airport, you will find a lot of car hire desks there. Just a short walk from departures you can select from numerous car hire companies offering good cars at very competitive prices. However these are not the only options you have, there is another choice for airport transfer that is more convenient especially in the high season where the queues for the shuttle bus, trains and even for taxis expand exponentially. You can have a private transfer from one of the reputable transfer companies operating in Malaga airport. If you pre-booked a private transfer then the company will send a driver to wait for you in the arrival hall and take you to your destination and then return you to the airport at the end of your holiday. In some cases you can book a seat in a private transfer bus, it does not have the same privacy as a private transfer but it is cheaper and also convenient.

Malaga Airport is not just an airport but it contains all the facilities that you can ever imagine, it contains a lot of cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. It’s a good idea to plan to go to the airport earlier than your scheduled time to take a look around.
