William Bently is a hospitality industry consultant specializing in resort recreation. Based out of Houston Texas, William has a long list of golf, hotel, resort, and spa clients that he regularly works with.
Chef Albert Roux is perhaps best known in the United Kingdom, where his London restaurant became the first ever to hold the coveted three stars by Michelin Guide. Chef Albert Roux and his brother have been name as the most influential chefs by their peers in the UK and has created Chez Roux at the La Torretta Del Lago Resort & Spa on Lake Conroe.
The agreement between the owner of La Torretta Del Lago, Ronnie Ben-Zur, and the Albert Roux Consultancy was to create a world-class, fine-dining restaurant that will have La Torreta Del Lago Resort and Spa on Lake Conroe added to the list of famed, overseas dining destinations. The restaurant is a free-standing restaurant on the lake shore and offers a variety of contemporary French cuisine with an emphasis on local Texas flair.
The addition of this restaurant is particularly good for Lake Conroe, as many of Houston's residents and visitors will flock to try out cuisine that they may have only seen on television. The restaurant is part of a select list of restaurants operated under the Albert Roux Consultancy, many of which are located only in Europe. The restaurant joins the list with many elite restaurants such as the Walbrook Club in London, Brasserie Roux in London's Sofitel St. James and the Inverlochy Castle in Scotland. Chez Roux is the only American restaurant in this group of fine dining restaurants operated by Albert Roux.
Chef Albert Roux has been praised for his abilities since the early 1960's. He was already a professional French Chef when he arrived in Britain and had worked for several of the most influential families in the world as a private chef. His first restaurant, Le Gavroche, was opened in London's Lower Sloane Street. The restaurant was later moved to Brook Street where it earned three stars by the Michelin Guide, making it the first restaurant in the UK to earn the highest accolade possible in the restaurant world. Even UK Foreign Minister Jack Straw has described Chef Albert Roux and his brother as two of Britain's finest ambassadors in the gastronomic world.
Needless to say, Chez Roux is an excellent addition to the Lake Conroe area, making it the perfect place for a Houston weekend getaway, romantic weekend getaway or even just a night out of the town for fine dining.
