Mission: Original Art for Everyman !
CHICAGO, IL Classic, fine art oil painter, Susi Franco, could choose to paint just about anything in the world. But, this popular, contemporary American artist sees beauty in wet, dewy fruits, and fresh, crisp vegetables.
The artist recently posted a series of small, original oil paintings to her DiscoveredArtists.com online art gallery that would make a chef's heart beat fast with desire. Especially because these fine art originals are priced at only $65 each.
Franco who uses old world, classic techniques, refers to the series of paintings as her "juicy little color study" where the artist's challenge is to recreate nature with brush and paint.
But, the expressionist painter goes a step further and adds her own interpretation of what she sees. These fruits and veggies are perfect! They are blemish-free, wax-like, idealized portraits of the real thing.
For example, Franco's painting; Some Tomato! shows a beefsteak beauty that is rounder, brighter, smoother, redder and more firm and juicy than any tomato grown on earth.
And her painting, titled Rabbit Heaven which is carrots, of course, depicts bright orange veggies that are free of those awful, little white hairs, problematic bumps, curves and bends. A cook's dream to peel and a breeze to julienne.
The 6" x 6" paintings are original oils on stretched canvases, and although created primarily by the artist as an artistic exercise, have decorative value as well.
For a chef or a cook who loves to dream about the ideal tomoto, one of these little beauties could become his favorite kitchen pin up. There's no guarantee that they taste as good as they look, but it's guaranteed they'll always look picture-perfect and stay fresh forever.

Some Tomato! by fine artist Susi Franco is a 6" x 6" x 1" original oil on gallery wrap canvas and is ready to hang. The painting, and others in the series, is available for purchase for $65 directly from the Artist at DiscoveredArtists.com
